Job Description:
Allainet is looking for new members of our technical staff to focus on analyzing sales, business development, partnership and advertising datasets. You should have a passion for using statistics to find meaning in massive datasets, and enjoy distilling results into presentable form for the business organization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Write and interpret complex SQL queries for standard as well as ad-hoc data mining purposes
- Write and interpret map-reduce style data analyses using Hadoop and Pig
- Work closely and iterate quickly with the analytics team as well as other product teams
- Code using a mix of SQL, Java, Pig, and scripting languages
- Summarize and report key analytical findings in both oral and written form
- Work with large unstructured and structured data sets. Large multi-terabyte+, 100MM+ daily transaction volumes
Desired Qualifications:
- MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent experience
- Experience with MapReduce-style architectures like Hadoop
- Experience with scripting languages, regular expressions, etc.
- Interest in discrete math and statistics
- Experience mapping business needs to engineering systems
- Strong verbal, visual, and written communication skills
